Who we are
An Office of Research Administration (ORA) was set up in the Faculty of Medicine at MUST in 2012 to offer research support to faculty and students. The office sources and circulates funding opportunities; coordinates and facilitates research capacity building trainings like grant writing, manuscript writing, RCR, EndNote referencing manager as well as conducts individualized and group research clinics tailored to specific needs. The ORA works with researchers in proposal writing and makes electronic submissions to grants.gov.
ORA is a one stop centre for Researchers and Administrators in the Faculty of Medicine at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.The ORA was created initially as a Grants Office in the FoM as one of the deliverables of the MEPI MESAU program for its Consortium institutions. However, because of the existence of the MUST Grants Office and the role and scope for which the office was created in the faculty, this Grants office was renamed Office of Research Administration (ORA) by virtue of the mandate it is playing.
The establishment of ORA is essential in supporting Faculty and students to write winning proposals, carry out research projects, publish their findings and translate these findings into health policies to benefit the lives of all Ugandans.
